"Fanix could probably tell you more since he has one. The only reason I know alot more is because my family is funding and building a few of them. I think it was 2, 4, and 5 they helped build." Kat replied. "Or hey, ask Neph. Admiral David was at the meeting."
Nephilim got out of her thoughts by that remark and replied shyly, "He's my cousin..."
"We'll find out more tomorrow I imagine. Why spoil the fun?" Kat added as she walked over to a Black EOSX. "You two need a ride? I'm headed towards 3rd District and...how rude, everyone else is gone."
Nephilim hid her discomfort but in actuality, didn't mind. It was once again different but... "I'm headed towards 1st." Nephilim said.

As the Corvette 13 LS swerved around other cars and proceeded down the street, Tiffany rolled her window down to catch the passing breeze.
"What do you think?" She asked, placing her hand out the window. "About them?"
Fanix shrugged, he was leaning his elbow on the window seal, resting his head in the palm of his hand. "They're okay. They'll take some getting used to, but that's what this was about."
"They seem nice to me." Tiffany said, looking his way.
Fanix laughed. "Of course they'd seem that way to you."

Next day
10:38, July 17, 2704 Aboard the 20-24 Ramses en route to New Talos
Ramses was one of the newer light weight frigates that transported mostly recruits from neighboring systems, supplies, and the occasional shipping of raw materials from mining facilities in Hyperion. This morning, it was reaching the neighboring planet of New Talos with all ten pilots sitting together.
"I hate this tie, I hate this jacket, I hate these slacks, I hate these shoes-"
"Josh, shut up." Itani said, getting annoyed at his ranting. "I have to wear a skirt."
"By how high I have to keep these up, I'd take the skirt." Josh added. Everyone was wearing the cerulean navy uniforms, differentiated by any stars, stripes, or medals recieved before or the badge number they were assigned. There were even a few berets or hats that were for now away from their respective heads.
"Its only another thirty minutes." Nephilim said from her seat, glancing behind and across the aisle she was seated on. "Then its the Mu Shipyards."

Beep. Beep. Game Over.
Fanix stared at his cellphone screen, the words "Game Over" popping up. A frown crossed his face; the game was annoying, but time-consuming. He had been playing it the entire time, while Tiffany slept in the seat next to him.
Tiffany began to move, she wiggled a bit at the annoying beeping sound. "Still playing that stupid game?"
Fanix started the game up again. "You know it. Only thing to pass the time."
She grumbled. "Turn it off."
Fanix just rolled his eyes.

Nephilim glanced down the aisle where Tiffany and Fanix were. He seemed to be already in the program long before the draftees. That was odd but what did she know about a time travel.
Sighing, she closed her laptop and walked down to their location.
"Hey, uh, Fanix." Nephilim started. "...how long have you been in the Tenth?"

Fanix looked up to see who it was before placing his eyes back on his cellphone screen. "Five week-"
"Six." Tiffany turned in her seat.
"Yeah, six weeks." Fanix corrected himself. "Why?"

"I was just wondering." Nephilim replied as she sat down across from them. "Most of the older pilots, like Colonel Galith over there, have been in the Navy for a few years." Said Colonel was on the phone, talking softly which Nephilim knew was a very heartfelt one.
"You're around our age and they usually don't draft so early. You must have great skills to get drafted early with no stars or stripes." Nephilim added, not being insulting. "You're from here though..."

Fanix raised his eyes again. "I am from here. What does that have to do with anything?"

"I didn't mean offense." Nephilim stated. "Ships are made here. They are forced to dock here before going to Vanasha. Kat's family is funding the building of three POWERS but you probably were deep into the program before it set off."
"That's impressive." Nephilim was being sincere but at the same time, contemplating how such a fix to the timeline was possible.
"Where on New Talos are you from?"
New Talos had three main cities: Atlantis, Lemuria, and the Capitol, Mu. All named after Earth born legends and smaller cities usually accompained something similar.

"I know. I was brought up around ships, I know most ships in and out." Fanix said offhandedly, as if it wasn't a big deal. He flipped his phone down and pocketed it. "And I'm from York, you've probably never heard of it. It's small."
"Island boy." Tiffany giggled as she turned again.
"Look, you were kinda snippy the other day. This some nice way of interrogating me?" Fanix asked.

"A little but at least I'm honest." Nephilim answered, eyes narrowed.
"I admit. I was pretty mean yesterday. I apologize." Nephilim said. She sighed, closing her eyes knowing that this was the good for her mission, her goal and that was keeping them all safe. And if that included Fanix...no, that did include Fanix, then so be it.
"End of matter is, we're working together and if we're going to keep each other from getting killed or getting anyone else killed, we spend our free time not at odds." Nephilim finished. "We good, Fan?"
"Attention, crewmembers, we are beginning our descent into the Mu Shipyards at Kai Water Base. Strap in tight."

"No, we aren't." Fanix retorted, adjusting himself in the seat after the announcement. "I don't know what kind of game you're playing at, but it sure as hell ain't honesty. So, until things come into light," He looked up, a hardened stare on his face. "You best learn to fight at odds."

Nephilim's glare was one of warning. "I will tell you this right now...I am playing no games."
She had no time to play games. Her top priority was to the safety of everyone on the Yggdrasill. She had one chance to make things right.
The atmosphere of New Talos rushed past them as the ship dipped towards the curved continent of Lanis, the northern pole and surrounding area much larger but it snaked all the way down past the equator, islands close or far from the main continent as the Talos Oceans covered the rest. It was always tropical year round save for some cooler or warmer temperatures during winter and summer.
It was a partly cloudy day with a few cresting the jungle around Mu and the shipyards. Everyone braced themselves as the frigate hit the water, causing a large wave before it evened and floated over the water. This caused the ship to cool down from reentry and dock on base.
Once parked and finished, the doors opened and Adelo stepped out, immediately ordering with his mere presence for attention.
"Sir!"
Adelo nodded, hands behind his back. "Everyone, you will gather your belongings and follow me to your designated quaters. You will have ten minutes to situate yourself and then meet in the lobby. Understood?"
(so...what do you think so far?)

(It's very interesting)
Fanix brought his bag up and onto his shoulder. "Your business is your business, Miss Van. I respect that. I also respect the fact that everyone has skeletons in their closets." He threw her a thoughtful gaze.
"But those skeletons are never meant to stay there, Miss Van." He finished, before headed out toward his quarters.
Truth be told, Fanix knew nothing of Nephilim or about what she was up to; that was her business. But he did know that she was determined about something; and from personal experience, too much focus on one goal usual left room for unwanted flaws and incidents.
"Don't let Fanix get under your skin, he didn't mean any harm." Tiffany said as she came up beside Nephilim. She watched as Fanix was greeted by a dark-skinned man once he was out of the ship; they laughed and then went on. "He's not so bad once you get to know him."

(thanks. ) Nephilim gave Tiffany a soft smile. "I'm sure you're right, Tiff." she added. "...one step at a time, I guess." They each stepped off of the frigate, taking in the cool, sea breeze that smelled of salt and fruit. The entire planet, even with mass producing ships, was a paradise. No polution, barely any disasters, truly a great place. Adelo led them to their quarters, a long hallway with numbered rooms that were very small but they wouldn't be used for long. Just nine weeks. "Remember, everyone, ten minutes. Don't take forever." Adelo reminded as he strode past and let them get acquianted.

(No prob)
Fanix loved his home more than he loved ships. It was all he knew, all he really cared for. He didn't really understand Earth or why it was special; he was born here, on New Talos, this was his home.
He tossed his bag on the bed after entering, taking the time to admire the quality of the room. He was unaware if they were to change clothes or not, so he didn't bother. He turned and went right back out the room, shutting the door behind him as he headed toward the lobby.

"Hey, Fanix!" Josh hurried up to his new buddy and clapped a hand on his shoulder. "According to the scroll, we're some of the youngest. Everyone else are top notch navy or air force men."
Getting to the lobby, they saw a few of the older pilots talking together in not such an aninmated fashion.
"Hey, Errisin!"
Errisin was a man in his twenties, light brown spiky hair and sky blue eyes. He wore the long coat version of the navy uniform and had the marking of a Lt. Colonel. He glanced over with mild interest but decided to amuse the younger pilots.
"Hello, Joshua. Settled in?" Errisin asked, his voice a deep baritone. He gained a nod and Errisin looked to Fanix. "...I'm glad to see I'm not the only Talos in this squad."

Fanix gave a soft salute. "Glad to be on board, representing Talos, sir." He said,m before turning to Josh. "We really the youngest though?"

"It appears so." Errisin replied. "Course, there might be other crewmembers younger since drafts start at sixteen but of pilots...yes."
"That's okay, we can keep up with our older comrades." Josh said with a grin.
Errisin raised an eyebrow. "Can you really? Whats your position in a firefight?"
"...I'm more of a barrage than anything fancy." Josh said.
"And your melee?" This got Josh silent which made Errisin sigh. "Everyone should be able to cover both, boy. You, Fanix?"

"In a firefight, I go with defense. A strong defense gives me time to make the right shots, ya know?" Fanix said. "I still have a few kinks I need to work out though. And I can hold my own when it comes to melee."
