"They're supposed to be a series of ships, star fighters but they're the first to actually have an Aether Warp Engine installed." Katarina said.
Aether Warp Engine: humanity's best invention in the twenty third century just before the Exodus. They're originally very heavy, large, and bulky but have been slimmed down for military use.
"Star fighters usually don't have AWE's because of size. That must be one small engine." Nephilim said, getting back into the conversation. "You said series...do you know how many there are?"
Katarina thought for a few seconds. "I've heard of eleven but I think there's only actually ten-huh?" The car stopped and Adelo glanced behind. "We're here. Everyone file out and at attention."

"AWE's, eh? I've heard a bit about them from where I'm from." Fanix glanced back at Adelo and nodded. "Yes sir."
Tiffany rolled her eyes. "Here we go." she said, opening the door and stepping out. She only took a few steps before stiffening herself at attention, Fanix doing the same thing.

Nephilim was the last out and saw each and everyone of them were at attention. Raphael gave them one look and nodded to Adelo. Adelo saluted and began leading them into the base.
A few times they saw military personell wandering the halls with data pads or books. But soon they were guided in a large theatre like room, the rows reaching high in the dome like room, a stage in front with the watching seats mostly full...except for the front row.
"All of you, check the first three rows closest to the ground. Your name should be on a seat where you will sit for the remainder of this time. Shouldn't take longer than five minutes." Adelo ordered.
They each saluted and Nephilim went down the first row which was almost bare save for one or two seats. There were only ten seats in all.
Ten seats for the Ten Pilots.
Number Ten. Nephilim thought as she went straight to the end, finding a datapad with a book and an ID card with her name on it. She picked it up and sat down. She looked behind at the several crewmembers chatting away. They were all alive, happy, blissfully unaware what was to become of their entire group. It was both invigorating and terrifying.
Nephilim turned back around and got comfortable. "It started here...and its going to start here again..."

Fanix went down to the front row and sat in the eighth seat, where he found his ID card and a datapad of his own. He glanced back at Tiffany, who waved and gave him a smile.
"This should be good." He said, rolling his eyes.

Once the ten seats were filled, Nephilim could see that everyone was present...except for Fanix or rather where Fanix was sitting was where Adelo should have been sitting. Once again, this anomaly was here...and seemed to be quite in tuned with this timeline than the other. She saw Itani, Katarina, and Josh on the front row and Corryn was up elsewhere. Everyone was here.
General Raphael stepped up front alongside Adelo, Yuri, and two young men, one with dark hair and one with light hair. Nephilim remembered them well. Commander and Lt. Commander David Lael and Jonathan Lu, serving in the 1st Battilion and basically humanity's first and finest.
"Could everyone please give me your undivided attention." Raphael asked, everything going quiet. "I am General Raphael Jace, one of the four Generals of the IE Military. The hundred and fourty four people you sit with now were chosen for not just skills but also potential and determination. But determination of what? To see things through to the end."
"Therefore, you have all been drafted into the Tenth Squadron and Fleet codenamed SEPHIROT." Behind Raphael on screen showed the name of their squadron and then showed a diagram of a large flagship, skinny near the front and slowly making wings and bulk in the back. "This...is your Flagship, the YGGDRASILL and from her is your command. And commanding the Tenth is Commander Adelo Roth." Adelo was gestured to stand and there was applause. "Yes, yes, fly her well, Commander."
Adelo sat down and Raphael continued. "It is one of the finest built on New Talos and has one feature that makes the Tenth unique and original. May I direct your attention the first ten seats in front of you."
Nephilim kept her stare, knowing everyone was looking at her and the other ten. "These ten are your elite. The Tenth is comprised of eleven ships. The Flagship and the ten star fighters that support and guard it, the POWERS. Each ship will be customized per each pilot's strengths. They each latch onto a different part of the ship itself...observe."
A digital redition showed the third POWER which was attached to a wing, unclip itself, fall back and then thrust forward by its own engines. "When not in battle, these ships either offer added support or homes for their respective pilots. But you all will be supporting eachother in more important matters besides warfare."
"Your mission is simple to say but extremely hard in purpose. It is in fact one of the toughest things to ask but that was the reason we chose you. You see events through to the end."
Nephilim smiled, everyone on the edge of their seats. "Here it comes..."
"Your mission: to find any clues locating Earth and most of all, finding Earth itself." There were some gasps and surprised sounds which Raphael waited to go down before continuing. "I understand how enormous this burden is but without humanity's own home, we are merely a surviving race. It is ours to reclaim, our God given gift. So I beseech you all to take up this task and find that home that humanity is desperate to find again."
It took a total of five seconds in silence before one person shouted in the way everyone agreed in this military. "Hoo-rah!"

(Erm....Why wasn't Fanix present..? Pretty sure I got him in his seat.)
Fanix leaned against his arm rest. "Earth? Never thought anyone would give that wild goose-chase another chance."

(He is. I should have probably explained it better. Nephilim was referring to the ones she knew who would be there and how where Adelo was supposed to be, Fanix is. I can change that.)
Nephilim glared at Fanix from across the pilot seated between them. "If you knew just how important-"
"Shh." said the pilot, a man around the same age as Adelo with auburn hair and sky blue eyes wearing a uniform and marked with the emblem of a colonel. "Like the General said, humanity needs Earth...now please stay quiet."
Nephilim sat back, knowing with Colonel Errisin Galith there would no chance to actually say what she wanted to say. Goose-chase? How dare he...we were driven from our home like sheep. He has no comprehension...
Raphael continued on after mutterings had ceased. He had explained that the medical corp assigned would be getting more training in the following two weeks, the commanding crew would be getting the same in a week; officers in five; engineers tomorrow; etc.
"Pilots, you will redevous tomorrow at oh-six hundred at starport fourty. From there will be the frigate 20-24 Ramses to take you to New Talos. Pack whatever few belongings you have and say farewell to your families. You're space men now." Raphael said. "Your training will commence there."
"Your mission started in exactly nine weeks from today. If there are no further questions, I will leave you with your commanding officers or you are dismissed if they have nothing else to give."

(Ah, gotcha)
Fanix continued sitting, even when the others were getting up to leave. Back to New Talos; while others would be saying goodbye, he'd be saying hello to...some of his.
"Psss, Fanix!" The young male sighed and looked back, seeing Tiffany wave her hands at him. "C'mon!"
Fanix frowned and stood up, making sure he didn't get into anyone's way. On the way out, Tiffany joined him.
"Let's grab lunch or something. I know a few others are going to the little diner just down the street." She said, wrapping her arm around his.
"I guess I could go for a bite to eat."

"Can we all join?" Katarina asked. Herself, Nephilim, Itani, Joshua, and Corryn were all together, Adelo having told Itani he'd come by later to join.
"I mean, might as well get to know a few people. We will be working together." Katarina said.
"New Talos...isn't most of the planet covered in oceans?" Itani asked.
Josh nodded before holding out a hand to Fanix. "Joshua but you can call me Josh. Nice to meet yah, Fanix."

Fanix nodded and gave a genuine smile. "It's nice to meet you as well, Josh." He said, before releasing his and and glancing toward Itani. "It is, yeah. But it's a beautiful place; I grew up there."
"Anyway, the more, the merrier, right?" Tiffany said with a laugh.

"Really? We're all Vanashans." Josh answered. "Except for Kat, she's from the Pegasus colony." Katarina nodded.
"We better get moving or else we'll miss the monorail to the downtown." Itani said. "I am starving and we can finish introductions later." She and Josh headed out first, Corryn looking t Tiffany and Fanix.
"They're together just in case you didn't know." Corryn said. "Neph, come on, join the party."
"I am. Just slowly walking behind." Nephilim replied as they headed outside.

"Are they really?" Tiffany questioned. "That's so adorable!"
"Yeah, extremely." Fanix said flatly, before glancing back at Corryn. "So what's good to eat around here?"

"Don't let them hear that." Corryn said.
Nephilim however smiled at Tiffany's remark and rolled her eyes at Fanix. "There's an asian restuarant in the mall district; tex-mex just down the street and then a burger joint in the high rises. Personally...I could really go for some shrimp."
"Fatty-" Katarina stopped and started really looking at Nephilim. She was never fat, average but now...she looked a little too...thin. And Itani was thin because of genes. "...are you eating well?"
"What?" Nephilim asked. "Of course I am. Anyway, you guys are the guests in our little group so you can choose."

"Since it's up to us, I could go for a burger." Fanix said with a stretch. "How about it?"
Tiffany gave him a look. "You haven't changed. I don't mind. You guys?"

"I can grab my craving before the flight tomorrow." Nephilim said.
"Then lets hurry!" They quickened their pace outside, finding the others waiting as they got to the train station. Once it came, they all got on. Corryn then asked, "Since we're pilots, we'll be getting uniforms right?"
"More than likely." Nephilim said, remember her uniform all too well. They got to choose the colors but they were somewhat the same. Lightly plated armor over a jersey spandex like suit that was either sleeveless or sleeved and the same kind of material in pants with boots. And the helmet...loved that helmet. Nephilim looked to Fanix as the train started moving. "You said you had one of the POWERS. Got a uniform too?"
"You're already in the POWERS? Sweet, man. What are the ships like?" Josh asked.

Fanix thought for a moment. "The ships are very stylish, that's for sure. Mine is a bit more bulkier than the others, but stylish all the same." He said, before turning to Nephilim. "Yeah, I have one."

"And we get to see our ships tomorrow, lucky-"
"Actually we don't...not really." Nephilim interrupted Josh's excitment as she continued, absentmindly giving away information that they shouldn't know yet. "The POWERS are meant to be customized per each pilot's strengths a weaknesses. We're going to have to take a test simulation to figure out what we're good at before our ships are actually built."
"How'd you know all that?" Kat asked.
Nephilim realized her mistake and covered it up. "It was uh in the datapad and General Raphael said custom so I just assumed."

"You mean like physical strengths and weaknesses?" Tiffany asked.

"Yes and no." Nephilim said. "We have our reflexes on how we react during combat situations but they are different from hand to hand combat and operating a machine. The mental sides comes from how we evaluate the scenario...and how we work together as a team." "Speaking of hand to hand, aren't you the only here who barely has any combat training besides firearms?" Kat asked. Nephilim was about to reply with a no but remember back then she was a green horn. She knew how to fire rifles and pistols but she didn't learn her swordsmanship until Dineria, same with their Zivels. "Yeah well...we'll learn more I'm sure." she looked back at Tiffany. It was Adelo who had explained it all but instead of him, she'd do it herself. "The ships are going to be built after we've gotten an exact figure on what we can work with based on our simulation scores. Some details for team sake may be added on like an extra cannon or more shields." Nephilim said as the train stopped at the downtown district and they made their way to the burger joint. (back at Campbell? )

"Ah, so because Fanix's ship has already been constructed, he-" Tiffany was cut off by Fanix as the burger joint came in sight.
"Blah, blah, blah. Let's not bore ourselves to death with this over some burgers." Fanix said.
(Yeah)
