"Don't you dare think I haven't tried, twerp." Letalis said. "And you've been smirking the whole way here. Why were you so eager to come along?"

"I wanted to check out his digs." Zach said as he got comfortable in the chair. "And to see what he has to say about the Haven Outcast."

"Don't lie to me." Letalis growled out, nearly shouting. She pulled back but did not apologize. "Everyone has ulterior motives; people don't do things for the good of others. We're all selfish creatures. No one can be trusted...especially the man who calls himself Viceroy."
Letalis went over to the door, unsurprised to find it locked. Taking a moment, she brought up her leg and kicked it, the door opening up with minor damage. She caught it before it could slam on the wall and peeked out.
"Locking us in means you're hiding something. And I'm gonna find out what."

"Oh!" Zach jumped up. "You're straight to the point, aren't you?" He said, following along. "i'm just gonna say I tried to stop you, you can take the blame." He snickered.

"As if you'd be responsible enough." Letalis always too the blame, even for stuff she didn't do.
They headed down the hallways, dodging guards and acolytes as they headed deeper into the manor. The actual decor of the manor seemed very different from the decor of the village. The walls were green with gilded embellishments but the designs seemed to be very fluid. Then there were the armors standing at attention, it was not just orante but definently from an old culture.
"...what strange armor. Is it even functional?" Letalis muttered as she stopped to overlook one. The helmet had a long nose that tilted outward while hard leather fell to the back with tassles following from the base of black steel. "It looks mighty heavy too."

"Tell me about it!" Behind Letalis, Zach had pulled a helmet off of one and tried it on. "This thing weighs a ton!" He yanked it off of his head and it fell on the floor.
"Whoops!" He scrambled to pick it up, nearly dropping it again. He got it back on the suit of armor, grinning. "Hehe...sorry."

Letalis gave a glare before continuing on, stopping at a flight of stairs as footsteps came from above. "Do what you do best." Letalis muttered as they both rushed under the flight of stairs to hide.
"The prisoner has still refused all our offers and our interrogation methods, Viceroy."
"We've been starving him for the past week, my lord, but the aura only refuels him."
The two voices were smaller but the next one was no doubt the Viceroy's. It was deep yes but it was the very tone of authority that did the trick.
"The healer is biding his time no doubt. If he plans to escape and reach Hart, no one will believe his claims. Or at least those who would have will no longer." said the Viceroy as they descended the steps and continued down the opposite hallways. "Make sure Krown is reached so we may return him to his proper place."
"Ahriman's foul will make contact in a few days, my lord." They waited a few minutes before saying anything.
Letalis smirked. "a prisoner huh?"

"You mean make unnecessary noises and altercations?" Zach said with a laugh before they hid.
He listened as closely as he could, and heard something else about Aura. He wondered if it were actually capable of keeping someone alive who had been starving. If so, whoever the prisoner might be was definitely strong.
"I guess you're going to check it out?" He asked Letalis.

"Let's find this prisoner then." Letalis said as they looked up the stairs. While the first thought would be the dungeons, any and all jails were on ground or higher level because the earth was far too thick with clay.
"They came from the upper level so let's check up there."

"Up we go." Zach rounded the bend and hurried up the stairs. "Do you know this guy? He's from Hart, right?"

"We don't even know his name but they said something about escape and believe his claims. Doesn't that seem a little strange..." Letalis reached the final stair, finding it very desolate.
"Come on, the Viceroy is starving a prisoner? Says something about claims? No one will believe? What's he hiding?"

"I can take a guess." Zach said as he searched the hall. "Something about the outside?"

Letalis' smirk became more devious, almost maddening just at the thought.
"Exactly and they call me crazy and deluded huh?" she said as they began searching the top levels of the manor. As they turned corners and opened doors, nothing seemed off limits.
"What are you doing here?"
It was a single guard, standing in front of a door at the end of a hall. "...Just guests to the Viceroy."

"We're just...taking a tour!" Zach said, thinking quick on his feet. "This is my first time even coming up here to the Viceroy's place, so it's a once in a lifetime thing!" He grinned as he headed down the hall.

"Yes, it can be quite...daunting at first." The guard replied.
"In that case, can't you help us get to the dining hall?" Letalis asked, setting her bait open. "I'd rather not get into a predicament of getting lost while in this place."
"I'm afraid not." the guard replied. "I cannot leave my post..."
Letalis smirked. "But we are the Viceroy's esteemed guests. Surely you understand our importance."
"Y-Yes but for your safety and everyone else's, I cannot leave my post."
Just gave everything away right there, huh?
"Oh...alright then." Letalis made no move to leave and instead, rushed the guard, kneed him and brought her hand right down on his neck, paralyzing him. "Knock him out, Zach."

"On it!" Zach came running up and kicked the guard right in the head.
Hard.
Maybe too hard.
"Oh...well....he's going to have a horrible headache." Zach began to laugh sheepishly.

Even Letalis had to flinch at the hit Zach inflicted. "...I think hoping for a headache is a little much to ask for." Taking the keys from the guard, she unlocked the door, sword ready to draw.
It was a desolate room, probably one of the brick towers on the sides of the manor. The windows were barricaded and any furnishings had been removed and replaced with a cot in which a man sat upon.
The man opened only amber eye under his main of blonde hair and glanced at Letalis and Zach, looking past them to the guard. "Yes, I would think the poor lad will probably have brain damage just by the strength of your fist."
"Are you the Viceroy's prisoner?" Letalis asked in a tone that he better answer.
"Same as you two if I can imagine."

Zach grinned. "It was my foot that did the work." He then froze with the man's last sentence. "What do you mean by that?"

"You're citizens of this Haven, right? That means you're both prisoners here. Though your stone walls are mists and storms, its still the same concept." he said, standing up, brushing off his coat.
He held out a hand to greet them. "Cleo Ridley, a pleasure mister and miss?"
"...did you say 'this Haven'?" Letalis repeated, not registering the greeting at all.

Zach stepped up and shook Cleo's hand. "Zachariah Branshal, at your service." He said, before releasing his hand. "This is Letalis, the fool is the village."
He quickly waved his hands up in defense toward Letalis. "Hey, that's what you're considered. And for someone so outspoken...."
