"At least I can fight out of a guard's hold, prankster." Letalis retorted with no means for teasing.
"Children, behave." Isobel asked nicely. "I would think that growing up in the same orphanage you would treat eachother kinder."

"At least I can fight out of a guard's hold." Zach mocked with a chuckle. "Just because we grew up in the same orphanage doesn't mean anything."

"Mocking me, twerp?" Letalis asked.
Isobel gave a sad smile as they continued up. After about fifteen minutes, Letalis seemed to start lagging behind. Isobel noticed and stopped midway. "Should we take a rest? You seem rather...green, Letalis."
Letalis shook her head. "I'll be...fine-" Stopping, she covered her mouth and rushed behind a tree, the sound of stomach contents with curses being heard. "Dammit!"
"...must be the thin air. We acolytes suffered the same dillemas." Isobel said as she looked to Zack. "Why'd you agree to be a witness?"

"Huh?" Zach was so distracted by the Letalis he almost missed the question. "Oh! Because I'm....." He stumbled over words. "I want to prove myself as a loyal citizen of the Haven!" He lied with a large grin.

Isobel raised an eyebrow but went along with it. "Very well. I just hope that after this, Letalis will be able to be accepted. Even I do not like the discourtesy they show outsiders and naysayers."
After about another minute, Letalis came back griping. "Better?"
"No."
"Hold still then." Isobel outstretched her hand as her form glowed a white color. "First Aid." The white haze semed to flash and transferred to Letalis, her body absorbing it as her color returned.
"That...that was aura, wasn't it?" Letalis asked, feeling her grogginess subside for now.

"Aura?" Zach was intrigued by it too...a little bit. "What's Aura?"

"Aura is energy and it is what provides life. Everything has aura but only living things can concentrate and cycle aura." Isobel explained as they continued up the stairs. "Aura is cycled through mobile and immobile objects. You have seen it before: the wind through trees; water through rocks; your own auras overpowering those wolves just a few minutes ago."
"I didn't use anything close to what you just did." Letalis countered.
"You did." Isobel said. "Living creatures are able to use the cycling of auras for their own benefit. Your arte, Demon Fang, gathered your aura and forced it towards your foe. The same goes for your moves, Zack."

"Whoa, really?" Zach jumped to the side and held his hand out. "HIIIYAA!!!"
.....
"Erm...." Zach stared at his hand and then looked at Isobel. "Nothing's happening..."

"You aren't concentrating." Isobel said. "You have to clear your mind, bring forth your technique with both insight and instinct. Artes are special moves that use your aura for either physical or magical attacks."
"So just punching at a tree won't bring out an aura arte, idiot." Letalis said. She was given a pointed look by the acolyte.
"Just like how speaking can incantation does nothing unless you can control the aura flow. Some artes can be taught; others learned from your own experience and epiphanies." Isobel continued as they walked across a bridge. "Most of the aura used in physical attacks is just your energy but with enough concentration of the elements, you can transform or use the aura to your advantage. The spell I used is using the White Aura, the aura of healings. If you, Zach, were to concentrate on the rocks nearest to you, you could cause a Yellow Aura move, bringing the power of earth to your punches."

"Could I try punching you?" Zach asked, winking at Letalis. "Anyway, I don't need that Aura stuff."

"How about I cut your hands right off." Letalis threatened, her sword already halfway unsheathed.
"Actually, you do if you want to live." Isobel said before a fight could start. "Aura is life. It is what composes everything alive so to be without it means death. Do you understand, Zack?"

Zach waved his hands around. "Oooooh, I'm soooo scared." He chuckled before shrugging. "I think I get it. No Aura, no life. Seems easy enough."

"Infuriating brat." Letalis said before they got off the bridge, Isobel noticing Letalis lean over the side and spilled her guts again.
"Once Letalis gathers her bearings-" Isobel disregarded the curse directed at her. "-we can continue onward. The manor is not much further. With nightfall approaching, we can all assume a dinner."
Letalis wiped her lips but her glare said everything.

Zach's features brightened up. "Dinner! Heck yeah!!"

"I bet its poisoned." Letalis said.
Isobel sighed, knowing there was no use in starting an argument with her. The rest of the walk was full of silence.
The Manor of Hart
Just like Isobel said, there was a large oak and ivy colored manor built at the base of the mountain. It seemed like a very intricate and styled manor, like the more expensive houses built in the Haven that took the longest to build. Grey stone pathways were clean from dirt and clean water spilled from the fountains. Other acolytes wrapped in green and white robes similar to Isobel's wandered the premis while others wearing darker green tunics wandered with spears or swords.
"Here we are." Isobl said.
"...guess I was slightly wrong in my idea fo this place." Letalis said. "It's even worse than I imagined."

"He's a lot better off than us." Jealous or something was heard in Zach's voice when he spoke the words.

"Children." Isobel scolded.
One of the guards came up, spear in his grip as he studied Isobel and the Hart citizens. "I have brought the guest and by her request, a witness."
"Good, Lady Knight. If you would escort them to the parlor, they can amuse themselves before supper." the guard said.
"Of course." Isobel began leading them into the manor's central wing, Letalis giving a similar stare at the guard as they walked passed.
The manor inside was just as intricate but even Letalis had to admit it gave off a feeling of comfort. Not the luxury kind but welcoming. And she hated it. The parlor they were in was ground level with a piano off to the side, a fire place, and a few seats and table. "Just make yourselves comfortable-" Isobel was about to sit down when the door came open. "Lady Isobel, we need your help."
"What is it?"
"One of the stove's pipes was loose and burned an intern. Its been fixed and its not severe but sooner the better, please?"
Isobel sighed. "Very well. Just stay here, you two."

Zach waited for Isobel to leave before flopping down into one of the chairs. "Fancy digs, don't ya think?" He said, taking a deep breath. "You ever met this Viceroy guy?"

"No." Letalis said as she looked outside, refusing to sit. "And I am not going to take any of his courtesy, especially when this kind of request is twelve years too late."
Groaning to herself, she rubbed her forehead. "I asked to speak with this bastard twelve years ago. You know what I got? A no in the form of a few stones and a warning. What the hell is he thinking about listening to what I have to say now? I don't buy it."

Zach began laughing again. "You're so eager to use your sword, why don't you just cut'em up?"
